Why to Pick Andrew Yang as Your President in 2020 (Op-ed)

(Last Updated On: )

Public enemy #1 is the health consequences of stress that lead to some of the US’s leading causes of early death: heart disease, addiction, and suicide.

Public enemy #2 is our existential threats, things like climate change, natural disasters including earthquakes, hurricanes, flooding, tsunamis, asteroid impacts, solar flares, and mass pandemics.

We need to solve #1 so people are equipped to wage war against #2.

Our end goal? A Star Trek (Generations) style society where all needs are met, and distant stars become vacation destinations. Though this goal is likely 1,000 years away, we should start now to provide a better future for those who will follow us.

Andrew Yang is our General in this first phase — this fight against enemy #1. The Freedom Dividend? The $1,000 / month guaranteed income? That is our MREs and our government issued rucksacks for all US citizens.

We believe that empowered individuals — people empowered with the freedom of money, will find creative and tailored solutions to eradicate our public enemy #1 by leveraging one of America’s greatest assets: our creativity.

Once the dragon that is public enemy #1 is slayed, our great nation will have the space to build and plan our way to making public enemy #2 obsolete. Earthquakes and tornados will still happen, but we’ll have solutions to make their impacts no more than a minor inconvenience.

We are starting on this journey together with securing the 2020 presidency. Your support for Andrew Yang and his Freedom Dividend is needed.

Talk to your friends about a basic income. Think out loud about how $1,000 given to you unconditionally each month would change your life and the lives of those around you. Donate what you can to Yang’s campaign, and lift others up who share his values and message.

Andrew Yang should be our next president. In the years that follow his election our greatest existential threats will be denied.
