Two Halves of Water (Poem)

(Last Updated On: )

Two Halves of Water

There are two chapters of my life: before I was comfortable in water, and after.

I’m not exactly sure when it happened, maybe in Hawaii in 2006, but I somehow discovered that with minimal effort, I could float

That’s me in Ka’anapali!

My dear friend Elisa is doing amazing work in Las Vegas, teaching kids how to swim. This video about her important work there, and being humbled by getting to spend time in the water in Maui, Hawaii, inspired this poem.
